The annual US hacker conference, DefCon, has been expanded this year to include the next generation of white hat hackers.
DefCon Kids, scheduled to take part 6-7 August in Las Vegas, is aimed at eight to 16 year olds who want to learn how to be ethical or white hat hackers.
According to the DefCon Kids website, young people will learn about opening master locks, Google hacking, and communicating in code. There will also be a workroom for kids to participate in hacking activities such as a codebreaking museum and a hardware hacking station.
DefCon organisers say they do not want to create the next black hat group, such as LulzSec, which recently announced it has disbanded, but to get children to use their hacking skills for good purposes.
